A nice mom and pop type restaurant - cooking it homestyle. Situated inside the Mall here, the restaurant provides ample seating and a wide variety of food offerings. Today, I went with the Whistle Dog, which is a hot dog served on a toasted bun that comes primarily with cheese and bacon. Very tasty! The fries that came with it were a little on the greasy side but very flavorful. The other side that came with the hot dog was the coleslaw. I've not had many good coleslaws here in Canada, but this is one of best. Actually, its better than most I've had in the States. The service was nice.

This place is a diner, stuck in the corner of a strip mall. If you're not looking for it there's a good chance you'll miss it.
I wish we did.
We got seated by the waitress, who handed out menus and then waited 15 minutes for her to get back to us. We gave our order, and in another 5 minutes she returned to say 3 out of the items we ordered weren't available. Fine, we switched them.
Meanwhile we asked her to bring our drinks.
To cut the story short, 2 out of our items never arrived and neither had the drinks (or even just plain water). This was after I got up to find her and remind her of them.
What was delivered was standard diner fare. If I rated just the food it would have been a 3 star.
I should add that the guy in charge, when I came to pay, was pretty upset by the experience. He did deduct some stuff from the bill that we actually were served, so although we left very underwhelmed, it could have been a bad waitress experience. -

Just what you would expect from a family diner style restaurant. We were hungry around 11am as we passed through town and had first tried the Third Place Cafe, but that place stops serving breakfast at 10:30am and doesn't begin lunch until noon, so we needed another option and stumbled on this place. They had stopped serving breakfast, but lunch was in full swing. I tried my first every Poutine and liked it. Glad I ordered the small, as the serving was huge.

I love this place.... comfort food to the max! Always the best home made soups (beef is my fave) Gotta have the mountain of fries, gravy and dressing they serve up.... so good (yet so bad lol....) Their deep fried fish is also a very generous portion and fresh. If you need some soul comforting, this is definitely the place to try. Always busy but worth the wait if a table isn't open.
